Run For Your Guns, Tempting The Sirens, and Nine 30 at Burrito Rojo in Turners Falls, MA - January 8, 2011

Score: 6/10
So my Saturday night was blessed with a show and we all know how much we love our music and even more so if it's LIVE!

So this is how it all began when I went on down to the Burrito Rojo in Turners Falls, Ma. Playing first was Tempting the Sirens. I gave them a 6/10 for a few reasons. One thing that bugged a lot was in between the songs there was not much talking to the crowd. When I am in the crowd the music may be dank as can be but I still need that personal connection with people no matter how large or small the venue is. The screaming vocals were outstanding along with the instruments. I am really picky most of the time so if you're already screaming KEEP screaming and don't sing! I think from going from screams to singing back to screams means you obviously must be very trained and if not then stick to what your good at and my personal opinion this guy was bomb good at his screams. But with that said these kids were having fun and could put on a good show.

Up next was Nine 30. They were not my personal favorite and not my style in general. The set change took way too long and I didn't really feel like they were serious about being there to play the show at all. BUT with that said they seemed to be having fun and they kept in touch with the crowd which was appreciated very much. The girl's vocals also reminded me a lot of the girl from "The Sounds". Overall were not my favorite so I gave them a 4/10.

Last but definitely not least Run For Your Guns. These kids were pretty legit and I will start off with saying I gave them a 7/10. The girl's screams were amazing but like I said about the first band the singing just wasn't working for me personally. She kept in touch with the crowd very well and they also seemed like they knew a good majority of the kids at the show so it was good to see they had strong support. I think this is a group that should be watched out for, you can just tell they work very well together and love what they do.

Overall the night was a 6/10 because of good music, good people, and a nice small venue that made me feel like I was back at home in Oklahoma. We must support our local bands because if it wasn't for us kids the future for music would be gone we must help out as much as we can!

Go check out the bands and give em a good listening to if you get the time even talk to them. Leave us a comment on your thought about local music, and even ideas to help the kids!
