Dealing with multiple line up changes, changing record labels, and non-stop touring is the life of a Sweller. Seems rough, but the pop punk band have handled themselves well. After releasing two albums on major record label, Fueled by Ramen, The Swellers decided earlier this year that it was time to cut the cord and be off on their own. Wanting to have full control over their own music is respectable and has resulted in a five track EP, Running Out Of Places To Go, released on their own label, Snowbird Songs.

Having complete freedom to do whatever they wanted this time around, you might be worried that The Swellers new music may change a little. That\’s not the case at all. If you like the old albums, then Running Out Of Places To Go will soon be added to your \”Favorites\” playlist. The EP is a good start for them as band that is recently on their own, but it does feel like there is something missing from a few songs. I am not quite sure what it is, but I think they will figure out as time passes and grow as a band. Besides that, the track listing is set up perfect and flows great into each song. Tracks like \”Making Waves\” and \”Hands\” will be the songs you get caught serenading your your shower head to in the morning. The lyrics are catchy and make it impossible for you not to sing along with. Instrumental wise, the guitar and bass sound great as always and of course it wouldn\’t be a punk song without the fast paced snare hits. The album has a great mood that the pop punk genre always gives its fans and I don\’t think it will disappoint.

Overall the music and lyrics are well written and will please fans of The Swellers. The band has big things coming for them and I am sure will have tons of shows coming up soon. The EP is out October 16th, so everyone go grab a copy!
